Efficiency is everything in email marketing. Automated marketing tools are designed to provide that efficiency. But which is better, the battle is on ClickFunnels vs GetResponse!
There are definite differences between the two solutions. Working out which one is right for you will depend on how much experience you have of using similar solutions, what you’re prepared to spend, and what you actually want the system to do for you.
It can be a difficult decision to make, and mistakes can be costly! So we’ll try to help. We’re going to look at the features that set them apart, what they pride themselves on and where they might fall short.
By the end, we hope you’ll have a clearer picture of which platform is the right one for your needs.
ClickFunnels vs GetResponse, lets dive in…
What’s Their Purpose?
Let’s start with ClickFunnels. They’re designed to be a user-friendly, template driven website building tool for creating a bespoke sales funnel.
There’s a range of designs, images and layouts to choose from if you’re not comfortable designing your own. There’s even basic text you can borrow from and adapt to suit your purposes.
In terms of in-built functionality, ClickFunnels is big on widgets and drop-ins. There’s a number of marketing elements you can click-and-drag wherever you need them to be, and they work from the moment you lock them in place.
Clickfunnels has a ton of great features, so much so we have a Clickfunnels Review that gets in deep and explains all the amazing capabilities this revolutionary software has to offer.
In short, you can make a completely bespoke, individual marketing website for your own business, but have it made entirely out of pre-built pieces.

GetResponse is a site that started off being a little more basic, but has grown into a more advanced beast to suit the demands of its users.
What was once a humble and basic platform for email marketing now offers similar functionality to ClickFunnels, along with some additional wrinkles that make them unique.
You can build landing pages, but there are also automated tools that help you design webinars and catch the attention of potential customers that way, too.
What both options indisputably have in common is that they’re sophisticated, powerful web based marketing platforms offering fairly comprehensive solutions and impressive tool kits.
They may refer to themselves in differing tools – read the promotional text on each website and you could be forgiven for thinking they operate in entirely different industries – they’re both chasing the same customer base.
If you’re looking for a system that’s going to help you perform market tactical analysis without adding to your IT department’s labor queue, they both want your attention and your money.

Does It Matter How Big My Business Is?
Both platforms go out of their way to make it clear they can work for both sole traders and companies with several hundred employees. Any business large or small can benefit from using either company.
If you are a smaller enterprise, though, you may have good reason to favour one over the other, and it comes down to price.
Although you can scale the price with either option depending on your individual need, GetResponse seem a little friendlier to small businesses.
They’ll come all the way down to $15 per month for their smallest package. That makes for a great headline, but at that level you only gain limited access to their features.
You can still make use of the autoresponders, landing page templates, email marketing features, tags and workflow facilities, but you’re not getting everything they offer unless you’re willing to pay more.
The bottom price for ClickFunnels is $97 per month, which is over six times higher.
However they don’t restrict access at all, and for a larger business an outlay of less than $100 per month might well be immaterial anyway.
Do I Need To Be Great With Computers?
Not at all. One of the joys of using ClickFunnels is that they have so many automated drag and drop features that you don’t need to understand any of the technology behind it to get it working.
The vast array of features and templates that the package offers mean that even people with no website design or coding experience should be able to pick it up intuitively.
The system tells where to go and what to do in order to get your intended result. Everything, including email marketing and sales funnels, should be comfortably within your reach to use and adapt.
That’s not to say that GetResponse isn’t user-friendly, but it may require a little more basic knowledge before you truly feel comfortable playing around with it; we’ve heard reports from users who’ve struggled with the editing process.
It’s also sometimes necessary to start from scratch if you want to alter some designs or features of existing pages, which isn’t ideal.
What Do I Need To Pay?
That will depend a little on what you want to get out of it. Neither platform has a ‘one size fits all’ cost – they offer different plans for different purposes.
The best fit for you will be dependent on how big your business is, and how many people you anticipate will actually visit and use the website.
There are two different ClickFunnels packages. There’s the ‘Startup’ package, which we’ve already mentioned, and that comes in at $97 per month.
For your money, you can build up to 100 pages across three custom domains, and use 20 funnels. You can also host anything up to 20,000 individual visitors.
If that’s not enough, you’ll need their ‘Enterprise’ package. That’s $297 per month, and in return you get 70 funnels, up to 300 pages, a full 20 custom domains, and hosting for a full 100,000 individual visitors.
ClickFunnels Pricing Options
GetResponse offer greater price flexibility, and they have four packages for your consideration. As we’ve already discussed, you can get on board with limited access at $15 per month, which is their Email Package.
Beyond that, the Pro Package is $49 per month. For larger scale users, the Max Package is adaptable but starts at $165 per month, and the enormous Enterprise package has a monthly price tag of $1199.
As you’d might expect, you get more features and capacity the more you pay. Add on offers allow you to increase the number of subscribers you’re able to host without the expense of upping your entire package and paying for features you’ll never use.
If you’re able to pay for the year in advance, you’ll get your package 18% cheaper. Sign on for a full two years in advance and you’re eligible for a pretty significant 30% off the whole price.
Getting the best value is wholly dependent on knowing which features you want to use, and how busy your website is going to become. In other words, if you have a lot of subscribers, you’ll want and need to pay for a larger package.
As general advice, if you’re an average sized small business and you’re only really interested in email management, you probably won’t go far wrong with the GetResponse Pro package.
GetResponse
What Do Existing Customers Think?
They’re both pretty well loved. Customer satisfaction with both companies is high according to all reputable peer review websites.
Despite that, it seems that GetResponse get marginally better customer service reviews than ClickFunnels.
That being said, if you’d rather speak to someone than deal with email or web assistance, you’ll want to go with ClickFunnels.
They have telephone support available, which isn’t the case with GetResponse. Both platforms have thorough and detailed web support and training available, which should be enough to get your website online and working properly.
Can I Work On The Platform From My Mobile?
ClickFunnels have no availability on Android, iPad or iPhones. GetResponse is available on all of those platforms.
Very few people actually do work of this kind via a mobile platform, though, so it isn’t really seen as a big issue.
ClickFunnels vs GetResponse the Conclusion?
If you’re a user who just wants to create an email list and collect emails, go straight to GetResponse.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more self-contained, complete business solution, ClickFunnels are more likely to be up your street.
Don’t just take our word for it though. Both platforms offer a free trial. Why not spend a little time with both and see what works and doesn’t work for you?
If you want our opinion, we’d pick ClickFunnels. The enhanced functionality means that it can just do more for you than GetResponse. But every business and user is different. That’s why variety is a great thing!
