There are lots more different techniques too many to mention here but these are some of the basics that should be learned, luckily there is so much free content on the internet you will never have to look far for answers to any SEO questions you might have.
When it comes to understanding SEO and putting it into practice there are many tools that will be a great help to you, the paid tools are great but there are some free ones that are also very good.
